Conformance target
This site targets conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. WCAG is the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility, and Level AA is the benchmark most commonly referenced by U.S. and international accessibility law.
“Conformance target” means this is the standard the site is built and tested against — not a certification issued by a third party. No automated tool can guarantee full conformance on its own, which is why testing here combines automated scanning with manual review.
How this site is tested
Every page on this site is tested with axe-core, the open-source accessibility engine behind tools like axe DevTools and Lighthouse, run programmatically against the rendered page — not just the homepage, every city landing page individually. Automated checks cover color contrast, form labeling, heading structure, landmark regions, ARIA usage, and link purpose.
Automated testing alone isn't sufficient, so it's paired with manual review using WAVE and direct inspection of the rendered page. Some real issues only show up this way — for example, a form label that technically has an accessible name from placeholder text but isn't programmatically associated with its field, or content that starts hidden until a page is scrolled and is invisible to any tool that doesn't simulate scrolling.
Accessibility features on this site
- A keyboard-accessible “Skip to main content” link as the first focusable element on every page
- Form fields with visible labels programmatically associated to their inputs — not placeholder text alone
- A logical heading order (H1 → H2 → H3) on every page for screen reader navigation
- Text and background color combinations that meet a minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio
- Visible focus indicators for keyboard navigation
- Content that doesn't depend on JavaScript or scrolling to become visible or readable
- Descriptive alt text on meaningful images
Known limitations
Some elements on this site are provided by third-party services — the hCaptcha spam-verification widget on the contact form, Google Fonts, and Font Awesome icons — and render outside our direct control. These providers maintain their own accessibility standards.
